Have them bite on a clean cloth to keep the tooth in place if needed, and then call our office. Applying a cold compress to the side of their mouth can help alleviate any swelling.
- Soft Tissue Injuries: Cuts to the lips, tongue, cheeks, or gums are common and typically result in heavy bleeding. Clean the area gently and apply a clean cloth or gauze to control bleeding. If bleeding persists, seek immediate medical attention.

- Stay Calm: Your child looks up to you for reassurance. Staying calm will help them remain composed during the situation.
- Assess the Situation: Determine the severity of the emergency. Is there bleeding? Is a tooth completely knocked out? Apply pressure or a cold compress to help with swelling, pain, or bleeding. Tooth fragments should be located, if possible, then placed in milk or saline and brought to our office as soon as possible.
